Συναυλία Allcomers και Φιλαρμονικής Ποταμού 2-6-2018 (αποσπάσματα)/ Concert of Allcomers & Philharmonic of Potamos (excertps)

Για άλλη μια χρονιά η ερασιτεχνική ορχήστρα εγχόρδων από το Λονδίνο “Allcomers”, που ο Chris Shurety φέρνει στα Κύθηρα  κάθε καλοκαίρι τα τελευταία 14 χρόνια, συνέπραξε με την Φιλαρμονική μας στην τελική συναυλία του εβδομαδιαίου αυτού project. Η συναυλία πραγματοποιήθηκε στην αίθουσα του Κυθηραίκού Συνδέσμου στην Χώρα το Σάββατο στις 2 Ιουνίου και την ορχήστρα διηύθυναν οι καθηγήτριες της ορχήστρας, βιολονίστρια Routh Gibson και η βιολοντσελίστρια και performer μουσικού θεάτρου Zoe Martlew καθώς και ο διευθυντής της Φιλαρμονικής Παναγιώτης Λευθέρης. Έπαιξαν έργα των Leroy Anderson, Benjamin Britten, Johann Hasse, Michael Nyman, Astor Piazzola,  Henry Purcell  και  Jean Sibelius. Μαζί με την Φιλαρμονική ερμήνευσαν το πρελούδιο από το “Te Deum”  του Marc-Antoine Charpentier καθώς και δύο κομμάτια του Παναγιώτη Λευθέρη, το “Dance of Kythera” βασισμένο σε παραδοσιακές μελωδίες του νησιού και τον “Αποχαιρετισμό” κομμάτι ειδικά γραμμένο για την βραδιά αυτή, σε πρώτη εκτέλεση. Επίσης, μόνη της η Φιλαρμονική, ερμήνευσε τον “Ρωσικό Χορό” του Tom Waits  σε διασκευή Catelouso. Η  Zoe Martlew, ως παρουσιάστρια της εκδήλωσης, δημιούργησε μια ξεχωριστή ατμόσφαιρα στην εκδήλωση, ενώ το κοινό αντάμειψε τους μουσικούς με παρατεταταμένα χειροκροτήματα. Γενικά η  εγκαρδιότητα που διακρίνει κάθε χρονο τις συναυλίες αυτές, φέρνει πιό κοντά το κυθηραϊκό κοινό στην τέχνη της μουσικής, σε μία από τις ελάχιστες εκδηλώσεις του είδους που γίνονται στο νησί.

For another year the “Allcomers” amateur string orchestra, which Chris Shurety has brought to Kythera every summer for the last 14 years, has collaborated with our Philharmonic in the final concert of this weekly project. The concert took place at the Kithiraikos Sindesmos in Chora on Saturday, June 2, and the orchestra was directed by the violinist Routh Gibson and the violinist and performer of the theater Zoe Martlew and the Philharmonic Director Panayotis Leftheris. They played compositions by Leroy Anderson, Benjamin Britten, Johann Hasse, Michael Nyman, Astor Piazzola, Henry Purcell and Jean Sibelius. Together with  Philharmoniki they interpreted the prelude from “Te Deum” by Marc-Antoine Charpentier and two pieces by Panayotis Leftheris, “Dance of Kythera” based on traditional melodies of the island and the premiere of  “Farewell” a piece specially written for this evening. Also, Philharmoniki performed the “Russian Dance” by Tom Waits in a cover by Catelouso. Zoe Martlew, as the presenter of the event, created a special atmosphere, while the audience rewarded the musicians with long-standing applause. Generally, the cordiality that distinguishes these concerts every year brings the Kytherian audience closer to the art of music, at one of the few events of this kind that takes place on the island.
